We recently completed the offices of Hyland Levin, a law firm in southern New Jersey. A year after it was founded with a small staff, the firm is moving into a 17,000 square foot space and is planning for rapid expansion. The dynamic design breaks the monotony typical of office spaces, incorporating natural light, multi-use collaborative spaces, and an airy employee café; all while responding to the firm’s programmatic needs and sticking to a strict budget.

The main conference rooms feature full-height pivoting panels that bring natural light and views to the reception area when the rooms are not in use, creating the sense of a much larger public area. The employee lounge opens to a shared terrace. Carefully selected and varied lighting generate focus and orientation, while node points break up long corridors into shorter more manageable lengths. The result of these various elements is a workplace that is beautiful, humane, and ultimately more productive.
